Our Roastery

Blacktop Roaster is a roast to order specialty micro coffee roastery based in both Cambridge and Bancroft Ontario in Canada. We are equipped with modern roasting technology capable of graphing and data logging our green beans throughout the entire roasting process allowing us to develop and consistently maintain the highest quality cup profiles. We roast to highlight rare and exquisite coffees by working with small producers and farmers to share with you, their finest work.

About Us

Farm to Cup

We carry direct trade and fair trade specialty coffees from around the world that are sustainably sourced. We source coffees from farms that utilize sustainable practices and meticulous growing techniques such as water management, soil conservation, shade-grown cultivation, and animal protection using unique tools and/or equipment, along with environmentally friendly practices.

Traceability

Working directly with farmers and experienced importers helps give recognition to the producers and validates where the coffee is grown, picked, and processed and if it was done so ethically and sustainably. For us, developing and maintaining long term relationships with farmers, and importers is key for maintaining our quality and consistency. We source from farms that showcase their unique farming practices, sustainable techniques, and social and environmental responsibility efforts.

Transparency

It is vital that we tell the story of each coffee we purchase, to spread awareness about the work going on at origin and how the coffee was grown, picked, and processed. We hope to provide consumers the ability and the opportunity to connect with the story behind every cup of coffee in hopes that they can choose a coffee they believe in, and trust that all farmers are earning fair compensation for their exquisite coffees.
